The first day of BMC2017 has drawn to a close, and we’re hugely grateful to all who attended, exhibited, spoke, and made the event such a success so far.
Highlights in our Pro Conference included Hospital Records boss Chris Goss expressing his frustration at music managers with his typical blend of humour and pin-sharp insight; an inspiring talk from Beatport, Coldcut and DJ Anna Wall about the bright future of electronic music; and the NTIA’s Alan Miller delivering an impassioned tirade on the subject of Saving NIghtlife.
Meanwhile in the academy, Alex Arnout and Justin Drake shared true stories from the secretive world of Ghost Writing; the people behind Toolroom Records shared the kind of expertise that’s made them house music’s biggest label; and the folks behind Rotor, Radar and Belive Digital explained why music video is so important, and how to do it properly.
And last but not least, Native Sessions featured an array of headspinning talent, with avant-techno maven Randomershowing his incredible skills to great response.
Hope you all a great time last night & aren’t feeling too jaded!
Be sure to join us again at tonight’s afterparties, networking events and clubs …
